Spurs have agreed with Christian Romero. Spurs have agreed personal terms with Argentina centre-back Christian Romero. It remains only to negotiate a fee with Atalanta to be perfect.

Romero made a strong contribution to Atalanta last season. And made his way into Argentina’s squad for the recently ending 2021 Copa America winners. 

As a result, many teams in Europe want to get this distant future defender to join the team. One of which is Spurs who are accelerating to strengthen the army for the new season. 

Fabrizio Romano reports that a long-term personal contract until 2026 has been agreed. The next step is “Chicken Golden Spikes” have to negotiate a fee with Atalanta. 

Romero is currently a Juventus player but has been loaned to Atalanta for two seasons since last year. With an option to buy for €16 million. The loan will expire in mid-2022, but if interest from other teams comes in. Atalanta will use the buy-and-sell option to make a profit immediately.
