Dutch coach Louis van Gaal has hailed Liverpool’s appointment of Arne Slot as a “good” choice after Jurgen Klopp took over. Slot’s appointment was confirmed by Liverpool less than 24 hours after Klopp took charge of his final game after nine years at Anfield.

The 45-year-old officially took over on June 1 after leaving Eredivisie side Feyenoord. Having steered the club back to Europe’s top flight during his three years in charge UFABET 

Slots hails from the Netherlands, like Van Gaal, who managed Liverpool’s rivals United for two years between 2014 and 2016.

“Yes, it’s a big job because Jurgen Klopp has done it brilliantly.” Van Gaal told Sky Sports.

“He (Slot) is the successor and it’s always harder. But he’s a good technical coach.”

“I think he’s the best technical coach in the Netherlands right now. So I think Liverpool have made a great choice.”

The slot, who was considered by Spurs and Chelsea last summer, has enjoyed huge success since taking charge of Feyenoord in 2021. And has become one of the most progressive coaches in Europe.

He led Feyenoord to the Dutch Cup, his second trophy as Feyenoord manager, having won the league title 12 months earlier.
